Overwatch 2 went live at 22:00 in SA last night and by the look of things, people all over the world sat and watched the loading screen for hours on end while they waited to get into the game. Blizzard just cannot get it right even after hosting countless beta and network tests ahead of game launches. This adds to Blizzard’s infamous track record of other server-based games like Diablo 3, World of Warcraft, Diablo 2, Diablo Immortal and others. That’s because Overwatch 2 was yet another Blizzard game that the company failed to launch correctly. ![]() For those who had electricity to download the game in SA, you were probably met with a server queue of about 40,000 people. The same can be said for Overwatch 2 which launched late last night. The company has a nasty track record of launching games without being prepared for the server congestion which results from players all trying to get into the game at the same time. The words “Blizzard” and “server issues” are often combined into one sentence.
